Two symphonic masterpieces for the final 2024 concert with the Arena Orchestra: Franz Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and Gustav Mahler’s The Heavenly Life. Schubert’s romantic restlessness and intensity are revived in Mahler’s most classical and Viennese creation, in search of a serenity tinged with melancholy. Paradise as imagined by children is sung by Mojca Erdmann. Making his debut with the Verona ensemble is Wolfram Christ, the legendary former principal viola of the Berlin Philharmonic.
